    We seek a highly committed and talented Principal-In-Residence to be part of our FAmily who:

    The Principal-in-Residence program is a residency program customized to permit our future school leader to learn, plan, and prepare to become a School Principal at Foundation Academies. They will serve as a member of the School Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Academic Officer.


    The Principal-in-Residence program has two phases:

    • Phase I:
      • Attend external leadership training, Senior Leadership Team meetings and Staff Orientation
      • Identify scope and deliverables on one or two strategic organizational initiatives and deliver results in identified areas
      • Create and execute an Individual Development Plan
      • Work as an essential member of the School Leadership Team
      • Visit excellent schools throughout the country to learn from successful school leaders
    • Phase II:             
      • Conclude work on strategic organizational initiatives
      • Visit excellent schools throughout the country to learn from successful school leaders
      • Work as an essential member of the School Leadership Team
      • Design a school instructional program
      • Develop the school budget, curriculum and scope of program
      • Recruit and hire school staff
      • Build the systems to operate the school program

    • Has a minimum of four years urban education experience;
    • Minimum of 4 years coaching experiences.
    • Possesses a master’s degree or is a graduate of a non-degree urban charter school leadership training program (eligibility for NJ school principal certification a plus);
    • Has earned a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA;
    • Has a track record of achieving measurable student learning in the classroom;
    • Has a demonstrated record of resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems within an environment of limited resources;
    • Exercises excellent judgment and unquestionable integrity;
    • Is a proven team player with tenacity and grit;
